A new report says Rockstar Games plans to release Grand Theft Auto 6 on PC in the first three months of 2027. If accurate, PC players would wait only a few months after the console version launches.
The report cites four industry sources familiar with the studio’s plans. The console launch is set for November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
How the PC timing compares with GTA 5
The reported schedule would be a major change from the previous pattern. GTA 5 arrived on consoles in September 2013 but did not reach PC until April 2015, about a year and seven months later.
Rockstar has not confirmed a PC version
The sources reportedly asked to remain anonymous to protect business relationships, and Rockstar did not respond to requests for comment. The company has not announced a PC version, so the early 2027 date remains a rumor rather than a confirmed release. Plans could still change, especially for a game of this size.
Frame rate concerns drive interest in PC
Many players have wondered about a PC release since the game was announced. GTA 6 reportedly runs at 30fps on all consoles, and Rockstar has said it has nothing to share about a performance mode. For players who want smoother gameplay, a PC version could be the better option.
