Widespread rumors suggesting that Seth Rogen has passed away at the age of 44 have caused significant confusion online, despite a complete lack of evidence supporting these claims.
The false reports began circulating on April 29, with numerous social media posts alleging the actor had been “tragically found dead.” Many of these posts included black-and-white images and were shared by accounts later identified as parody or unverified sources.
The origin of the rumor appears to be obscure websites and social media accounts, including at least one self-identified parody profile. Some of these sites were recently created and designed to resemble legitimate news outlets, which contributed to the rapid spread of the misinformation.
Despite the absence of credible sources, these posts quickly gained traction and were widely shared across various platforms.
In a significant development, searches across major news outlets reveal no verified reports confirming Seth Rogen’s death. Additionally, neither his representatives nor family members have issued any statements regarding such an incident. The actor’s own social media accounts remain active and show no indication of any such event, further discrediting the rumors.
Meanwhile, the rumor was partly fueled by online discussions referencing a fictional character’s death from the series The Boys, which some users mistakenly linked to Seth Rogen, causing further misunderstanding.
Notably, this is not the first time Rogen has been the subject of a viral death hoax. A similar false claim circulated in 2021 before being thoroughly debunked. Such rumors continue to spread rapidly on social media, often attracting attention before verification can occur.
At present, there is no evidence supporting the claim that Seth Rogen has died.
