While Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce dominated attention at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards, Ludacris captured significant headlines with a milestone achievement. On Thursday, March 26, the 48-year-old rapper and actor surprised fans by hinting at a forthcoming musical return as he accepted the prestigious Landmark Award, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the entertainment industry.
Christopher Bridges, known professionally as Ludacris, was presented with the honor by his Fast & Furious co-star Vin Diesel. The award celebrated an artist whose work has had a lasting cultural impact over several decades. During his acceptance speech, Ludacris expressed deep gratitude to the extensive team behind his success, including mixing engineers, songwriters, producers, label executives, DJs, assistant stylists, lighting crews, extras, and managers.
In a notable moment, Ludacris excited fans by announcing plans for a major musical project, marking his first new release since his independent studio album Ludaversal in 2015. He stated, “Luda! They’re using me against me right now. I thank y’all for 25 years. I’m coming back with new music, I love you.”
In addition to receiving the Landmark Award, Ludacris also returned as the host of the ceremony after a two-year hiatus. The star-studded event was held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and featured appearances from prominent figures such as Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce, Vin Diesel, Miley Cyrus, and Alex Warren. Notably, Sabrina Carpenter, who was named Pop Artist of the Year, was absent from the ceremony.
