Britney Spears has accused her former bodyguard of unlawfully accessing her personal devices and Apple iCloud account. The singer’s legal team swiftly responded by issuing a cease-and-desist letter to the security guard last month. Spears alleges that the ex-employee, identified as Bunbury, gained unauthorized entry to her digital accounts, violating several state and federal laws. She is threatening to report him to authorities and pursue legal charges.
Spears has demanded that Bunbury delete any copies of files he may have taken and requested disclosure on whether he shared any photos, documents, or other materials. It was revealed that Bunbury was dismissed in August after allegedly breaching his non-disclosure agreement by communicating with fans and media outlets. The hacking claims surfaced following his termination.
In a significant development, Spears was seen in public for the first time since her arrest earlier this month on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs in Newbury Park, California. The singer was spotted shopping at Malibu Country Mart and stopping at Starbucks during the outing. The recent images of the Grammy-winning artist, who was arrested on the evening of March 4, were initially shared on the fan page BritneysVault.
Authorities from the California Highway Patrol confirmed that Spears was released from Ventura County Jail after the incident. Prior to the DUI arrest, Spears had caused concern among her fans with a troubling Instagram post showing her dancing at home in a disheveled state, wearing a low-cut purple leotard that resulted in a wardrobe malfunction.
Meanwhile, officials continue to await the results of additional chemical tests related to the case, and the investigation remains active. The DUI incident began when a witness reported erratic driving by a black BMW 430i on a freeway near the Ventura and Los Angeles County border. Prosecutors from the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office have not yet decided whether to file charges against Spears.
A court hearing is scheduled for May 4, where Spears is expected to appear. A representative for the singer described the arrest as “an unfortunate incident that was completely inexcusable,” assuring that Spears intends to comply with legal requirements moving forward. The spokesperson expressed hope that the incident would serve as a wake-up call for the pop star.
