Nicole Kidman has broken her silence for the first time since her divorce from country music star Keith Urban was finalized earlier this year. In a heartfelt and candid interview published on March 11, the acclaimed actress reflected on the emotional journey of separation while highlighting her commitment to moving forward with strength and grace. At 58, Kidman spoke openly about the importance of family and the new chapter she is embracing in her life.

The actress, who filed for divorce in September 2025 after years of marriage, finalized the split on January 6. When asked about how she has been managing the changes since the separation, Kidman responded with a calm and thoughtful outlook. She expressed a steady determination to focus on positivity and growth, stating that she is always striving to move toward what is good in life. This measured approach reveals her resilience amidst personal challenges.

Central to Kidman’s message was the emphasis on her family, particularly her two daughters with Urban, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15. She underlined the significance of maintaining a strong family bond despite the divorce, affirming that they will continue to be a family unit. Kidman described her daughters as “beautiful” and “suddenly women,” highlighting the bittersweet nature of watching them grow up while navigating this transition.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s relationship began in 2005, culminating in marriage the following year. Over nearly two decades together, they built a life centered around their children and shared experiences. However, court documents revealed that the couple faced “marital difficulties and irreconcilable differences,” which ultimately led to their decision to part ways. The divorce proceedings took place in Davidson County, Tennessee, where Kidman was granted primary custody of their daughters. Both parents agreed to collaborate on major decisions regarding their children’s upbringing, reflecting a mutual commitment to co-parenting despite their separation.

Reflecting on the past year, Kidman admitted she had taken a step back from the public eye to focus on personal matters. She described this period as being “in her shell,” suggesting a time of introspection and healing. Now, however, she is ready to embrace the future with renewed energy and optimism. Looking ahead to 2026, Kidman expressed enthusiasm about returning to her professional life and taking on new projects.

Among her upcoming ventures is the highly anticipated sequel to the beloved film Practical Magic, which will see her reunited with co-star Sandra Bullock. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on September 11, marking a significant milestone in Kidman’s career resurgence. Despite the excitement surrounding her work, she reiterated that her primary focus remains on her children and their well-being, describing her role as a mother as her top priority.

Nicole Kidman’s first public comments since her divorce reveal a woman who is navigating change with dignity and care. By prioritizing her family and preparing for a new phase in her career, she demonstrates resilience and hope for what lies ahead. As she moves forward, Kidman’s story resonates as one of strength, love, and the enduring bonds of family.
