Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed his willingness to collaborate with US President Donald Trump to guide China-US relations toward a stable and constructive future during his state visit to the United States.
Addressing the White House, Xi conveyed his pleasure in visiting the “beautiful” United States and extended gratitude to Trump and his family for their warm hospitality. He also congratulated the US on its 250th anniversary of independence, highlighting that both nations are great countries with remarkable peoples.
Xi emphasized that the purpose of his visit is to strengthen friendship and broaden cooperation between China and the United States. He underscored the historic responsibility shared by these two major powers to promote human development and global progress.
Earlier, President Trump acknowledged the “tremendous strides” made by Washington and Beijing in addressing mutual challenges. He noted that discussions between the two leaders would cover security, technology, and what he referred to as “super intelligence,” a term for artificial intelligence.
Prior to Xi’s arrival, Trump reiterated his opposition to additional AI regulations, expressing his desire to maintain the sector “exactly where it is,” and mentioned that China holds a similar stance.
Despite the cordial reception, analysts anticipate that some disagreements may arise during the talks between the two leaders.
