In a significant development aimed at deepening bilateral ties, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reached an agreement to eliminate visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, official, and special passports from both nations. This move is expected to streamline official travel and foster closer institutional collaboration between the two countries.
The agreement was formalized during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly held in New York. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan signed the pact on the sidelines of the global event, marking a milestone in diplomatic relations.
Highlighting the importance of the agreement, Ishaq Dar emphasized that the arrangement reflects the increasing trust and cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He noted that the visa waiver would facilitate smoother high-level contacts and official visits, thereby enhancing mutual understanding and partnership.
During their meeting, the two foreign ministers also engaged in discussions covering a broad range of topics, including bilateral relations, regional security dynamics, and various sectors of mutual interest.
