The Kohat Police have taken a significant step forward in the ongoing investigation into the tragic murder of Dr. Mehwish by publicly releasing photographs of two individuals believed to be involved in the crime. These suspects remain at large, and law enforcement officials are intensifying efforts to locate and apprehend them. The move comes amid growing public concern and demands for justice in this high-profile case.

District Police Officer Shahbaz Elahi identified the two men as Hayat Gul and Saif Ali Khan, both of whom have been evading arrest since the incident occurred. He emphasized that the suspects were identified through a thorough examination of evidence collected at the crime scene, as well as multiple investigative leads pursued by the police. It was also revealed that the two accused share a close friendship, which may have played a role in the events leading up to the murder.

the police, the primary suspect, Hayat Gul, had a confrontation with Dr. Mehwish at Kohat Hospital. The dispute reportedly arose during the medical examination of a patient, which escalated tensions between the two. This altercation is believed to have been a catalyst for the subsequent violent attack that tragically ended Dr. Mehwish’s life.

Initial inquiries have shed light on the circumstances surrounding the murder. After breaking their fast during Iftar, Dr. Mehwish was returning home from the hospital when unidentified assailants opened fire on her just a short distance from the medical facility. The attack was sudden and brutal, leaving the community in shock and sparking widespread protests demanding swift justice and enhanced security for healthcare professionals.

In response to the incident, the police have launched extensive raids across various locations in Kohat in an effort to capture the suspects. These operations are ongoing, with officers working tirelessly to track down any leads that could lead to their arrest. The authorities have also appealed to the general public for cooperation, urging anyone with information about the whereabouts of Hayat Gul and Saif Ali Khan to come forward immediately. Citizens are encouraged to contact the nearest police station or use the dedicated police helpline to assist in this critical investigation.

This case has highlighted the vulnerabilities faced by medical professionals in the region and has intensified calls for improved security measures at healthcare institutions. As the search continues, the police remain committed to ensuring that those responsible for Dr. Mehwish’s murder are brought to justice, providing some measure of closure to her family and the community she served.
