A small single-engine propeller aircraft crashed into a residential building in Brazil, resulting in three fatalities and two serious injuries. The plane had taken off from Pampulha Airport and was airborne for approximately nine minutes before the accident occurred at around 12:16 PM local time.

There were five people on board the aircraft. During the flight, the pilot reportedly informed air traffic control of difficulties encountered during takeoff. Shortly thereafter, the plane went down in an urban area of Selvira, colliding directly with a residential building.

The pilot and co-pilot died instantly upon impact. One passenger succumbed to severe injuries later in hospital, while the remaining two passengers are currently in serious condition receiving medical treatment. Notably, no residents inside the building sustained injuries.

Emergency services confirmed the aircraft struck between the third and fourth floors, with debris entering the building’s stairwell and causing considerable structural damage. The fire department responded promptly to the scene.

In a significant development, investigators from the Brazilian Air Force and other aviation authorities have initiated a formal investigation to determine the cause of the crash. The inquiry will explore potential mechanical failures or operational problems that may have contributed to the incident.
