Pakistan Airports Authority to Launch Electric Cart Service at Major Airports

The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has unveiled plans to implement electric passenger cart services at key airports nationwide, aiming to enhance passenger convenience and modernize airport mobility systems.

Initially, this service will be introduced at Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, and Multan airports through a phased rollout. The procurement process has commenced with the invitation of tenders for supplying electric passenger mobility carts.

Designed to facilitate passenger movement between parking zones and terminal buildings, including concourse halls, the carts will also assist returning travelers in traveling from terminal exits back to parking areas. This initiative is expected to significantly ease navigation across expansive airport facilities.

In a notable development, passengers will be able to reserve electric carts via a dedicated mobile application. This digital booking system aims to streamline the service, reduce waiting times, and improve overall efficiency.

PAA officials highlighted that the service will particularly benefit elderly passengers, families with children, and those carrying heavy luggage. The introduction of electric carts forms part of broader efforts to upgrade airport infrastructure and elevate passenger facilitation standards.

Further information regarding the launch schedule and operational details will be provided once the tendering process concludes.
