Islamabad: The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghaddam, characterized the Islamabad Talks as an ongoing process rather than a single event. He emphasized that these discussions have established the groundwork for a durable diplomatic framework between the United States and Iran.

In a statement shared on social media, the ambassador noted that the Islamabad Talks have initiated a long-term diplomatic engagement which, if nurtured with trust and political commitment, could benefit all parties involved. He reiterated that the talks are not a one-time occurrence but the beginning of a sustained dialogue aimed at mutual interests.

In a significant development, Moghaddam expressed his appreciation for Pakistan’s role, particularly acknowledging Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and military chief Asim Munir for their goodwill and constructive efforts in hosting the negotiations. He also commended the dedication of Pakistani institutions, including the government, armed forces, police, and security agencies, for their relentless work in ensuring the talks proceeded smoothly.

The ambassador highlighted that the discussions between Iran and the US took place in a peaceful, well-organized, and respectful environment. Equal logistical support was provided to all participants, creating a secure and conducive atmosphere for meaningful dialogue.

Further, Reza Amiri Moghaddam stated that the Iranian delegation approached the negotiations with dignity and confidence, prioritizing the protection of national interests and the legitimate rights of the Iranian people. He underscored that the ultimate goal of this process is to safeguard the rights of Iran’s citizens.

He concluded by stressing that ongoing engagement, supported by mutual trust and determination, holds the potential to achieve a lasting diplomatic resolution between the involved parties.
