SSGC Announces Eid ul Adha Gas Supply Schedule for Consumers

The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has released its gas supply timetable for domestic and commercial users during the three-day Eid ul Adha celebrations. On the eve of Eid, May 26, gas will be available until midnight.

On the first two days of Eid, May 27 and 28, gas supply will commence at 7:30 am and continue without interruption until midnight. However, on the third day, May 29, gas will be supplied only until 10 pm. From May 30 onwards, the gas supply will return to its regular schedule, operating only during designated meal times.

In a significant development, the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee (RHC) confirmed the sighting of the crescent moon for the month of Zilhaj on May 17, establishing May 27 as the day Pakistan will observe Eid ul Adha. Following this announcement, the federal government declared a three-day public holiday from May 26 to May 28, 2026, as per a notification issued by the Cabinet Division on May 20.

Eid ul Adha, also known as the “Feast of Sacrifice,” honors the Qur’anic narrative of Prophet Ibrahim’s (PBUH) readiness to sacrifice his son in submission to Allah’s command, a trial that was ultimately replaced by the sacrifice of a ram. The festival is marked by prayers, family reunions, and charitable deeds, including the ritual slaughter of livestock, with the meat distributed among relatives, friends, and those in need.
