NADRA Urges Timely ID Updates Before June 30 to Avoid Fee Increase

Pakistan’s National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued a reminder urging citizens to complete essential identity-related updates before June 30, 2026. The authority cautioned that fees and penalties for these services may be revised following the upcoming budget announcement.

Individuals are advised to renew expired Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs) and ensure timely registration of children’s B forms to avoid additional charges that could be introduced in the new financial year. Parents are specifically encouraged to register children who have not yet been issued a B form, while those who have reached the eligible age for a Smart ID card should promptly complete the transition process.

In a significant development, NADRA indicated that the fee structure for various identity services—including CNIC renewals, issuance of duplicate cards, and child documentation registration—might increase after the 2026–27 budget is implemented.

Meanwhile, the authority highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance public access to its services by expanding facilitation points. For instance, in Lahore, 173 e-Sahulat franchises have been upgraded to offer additional services. These include applications for children’s B forms for those under ten years old, CNIC renewals, duplicate card issuance for lost IDs, and processing cancellations of identity documents for deceased individuals.

Officials emphasized that these improvements aim to increase convenience for citizens. However, they strongly advised the public to act promptly to avoid facing any future financial burdens associated with fee hikes.
