Islamabad police have apprehended three individuals, including a woman, in connection with a domestic dispute that resulted in the deaths of four people, among them a woman and a child, in the Jhangi Syedan area three days ago. The Deputy Inspector General (Operations), Jawad Tariq, announced the arrests during a press briefing on Tuesday.

The tragic event occurred within the jurisdiction of Noon police station and initially appeared to be rooted in a family conflict. Following the killings on Saturday, widespread panic ensued in the neighborhood, prompting immediate response from police and Rescue 1122 teams. The victims’ bodies were transported to the hospital for identification.

Notably, a nine-year-old girl was abducted during the incident but was later rescued unharmed. DIG Tariq confirmed that the case stemmed from longstanding family enmity. An FIR was promptly registered, and investigations commenced without delay.

Utilizing digital evidence, including CCTV footage from Safe City cameras, authorities successfully tracked down the suspects. The arrested individuals, who hail from Lower Dir, are currently under custody as further investigations and raids continue to identify and detain additional accomplices.

In a related development, police also detained two suspects involved in a robbery of Rs4.2 million in the Bahara Kahu area, recovering approximately Rs3 million in cash. It was revealed that an employee of a local shop was implicated in the crime.

Meanwhile, law enforcement dismantled a group known as the ‘Shahzad Gang,’ responsible for street crimes, arresting five members and seizing 20 mobile phones. Cases have been filed against them in Rawalpindi.

Additional arrests were made in the Ramna and Karachi Company jurisdictions, where police recovered cash, mobile phones, and a stolen motorcycle. Overall, recent operations across the capital have led to the recovery of Rs5.4 million in cash from various criminal networks.
