In the aftermath of the devastating Quetta blast on May 24, which resulted in over a dozen fatalities, political figures throughout Balochistan have strongly condemned the attack. They described it as a cowardly assault targeting innocent civilians and reiterated their firm commitment to eradicating terrorism from the province.
In separate declarations, these leaders highlighted that the deliberate targeting of passengers, including women and children, was intended to instill fear and disrupt the region’s stability. They emphasized that such acts not only violate human rights but also threaten local customs, national values, and social cohesion.
Member of the National Assembly Nawabzada Jamal Raisani condemned the attack on travelers during the holiday season, calling it a breach of fundamental human principles and an attack on Balochistan’s cultural and social fabric. He affirmed that the people of the province remain united against extremist forces and will persist in opposing all forms of violence.
Senator Dinesh Kumar stated that the residents of Balochistan are standing “like a steel wall” against terrorism. He condemned those responsible for killing innocent civilians and stressed that such individuals have no place in society. He also reiterated the political leadership’s full support for security agencies in their mission to restore peace.
Provincial leader Rabia Baledi described the incident as a cowardly act, offering condolences to the families of the victims and praying for the speedy recovery of the injured.
Member of the National Assembly Mian Khan Bugti pointed out that the attack, along with other violent incidents such as those targeting the Jaffar Express and civilians, revealed the brutal nature of the perpetrators. Meanwhile, Mir Zafarullah Khan Zehri underscored that these attacks serve external agendas aimed at destabilizing the province.
In a significant development, the collective leadership of Balochistan reaffirmed their unity with the state and security forces in combating terrorism. They vowed that those responsible for attacks on civilians will be held accountable and brought to justice.
