Zayn Malik has opened up about how his five-year-old daughter responds to his music. During a recent interview on SiriusXM’s The Pulse, the 33-year-old singer discussed his daughter’s reactions while promoting his forthcoming album, Konnakol.
He explained that although he avoids playing his songs around her due to explicit language and mature themes, she still enjoys his music and offers her own opinions. Malik described her feedback system, saying she uses gestures like thumbs up, thumbs down, and a sideways thumb to express her thoughts. A thumbs up combined with a sideways thumb means the song is “pretty good.” He revealed that she gave several songs a double thumbs up, while only a few received a sideways thumb, indicating less enthusiasm.
Notably, Zayn shared that his daughter Khai, whom he has with supermodel Gigi Hadid, understands that her father is a pop star. Although she is only five and doesn’t fully grasp the extent of his career, she recognizes that her dad sings and occasionally shows off this fact in typical five-year-old fashion.
In a significant development, Malik’s new album Konnakol is scheduled for release on April 17, marking an exciting milestone in his musical journey.
