In a significant development aimed at strengthening agricultural collaboration, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia officially launched the Green Pakistan Initiative during a formal ceremony held in Islamabad. This initiative marks a new chapter in bilateral relations, focusing on sustainable agricultural development and food security enhancement.

As part of this cooperation, Saudi Arabia presented Pakistan with a state-of-the-art central irrigation system, symbolizing a tangible commitment to modernizing Pakistan’s agricultural infrastructure. This gift is expected to play a crucial role in improving water management and boosting crop productivity across various regions.

The Saudi Deputy Minister of Agriculture highlighted that the partnership between the two nations has expanded beyond traditional boundaries, particularly in the domains of food security and livestock development. He emphasized that the Green Pakistan Initiative aligns with the shared goals of both countries to foster stronger agricultural ties and promote sustainable farming practices.

Dr. Salman bin Ali Al-Khatib further elaborated on the importance of integrating advanced technology within the agricultural sector. He noted that through continuous dialogue, fostering private sector partnerships, and embracing innovative technologies, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia can work towards achieving self-sufficiency in food production. This collaborative approach is expected to enhance resilience and sustainability in the face of global food challenges.
