Railway Department to Resume Bolan Mail Service to Karachi After Two-Week Pause

The Railway Department has announced the resumption of the Bolan Mail train service connecting Quetta to Karachi after a suspension lasting two weeks. This move is part of broader efforts to gradually restore normal train operations that were disrupted recently due to various challenges. The Bolan Mail, a vital link for passengers traveling between Balochistan and Sindh, had been temporarily halted, causing inconvenience to many commuters.

However, despite the decision to restart the service, railway officials have confirmed that the train scheduled to depart tomorrow has been canceled. The primary reason cited for this cancellation is a notable decline in passenger bookings, which has made it unfeasible to operate the train on that particular day. A spokesperson from the railway department explained that the demand from travelers has dropped considerably, forcing them to suspend the service temporarily until passenger numbers improve.

This situation reflects the ongoing difficulties faced by Pakistan Railways in maintaining consistent service levels amid fluctuating passenger trends and operational challenges. The reduced ridership could be attributed to multiple factors, including economic pressures, alternative transport options, and the lingering effects of recent disruptions. The department is closely monitoring the situation and hopes to stabilize the service soon to meet the needs of daily commuters and long-distance travelers alike.

In a related announcement, the Railway Department has revealed that there will be no special Eid trains running this year. This decision marks a significant departure from tradition, as special trains have historically been arranged during the Eid festivities to accommodate the surge in passenger traffic. The cancellation is primarily due to the ongoing fuel crisis, which has severely impacted the department’s ability to operate additional services beyond the regular schedule.

The fuel shortage has placed considerable strain on Pakistan Railways, limiting its capacity to provide extra trains during peak travel seasons. Officials emphasized that the priority remains to maintain essential train services while managing the scarce resources available. The absence of Eid special trains is expected to affect many travelers who typically rely on these additional services to visit their families during the holiday period.

Overall, the resumption of the Bolan Mail is a positive step towards restoring connectivity between Quetta and Karachi, but the challenges posed by low passenger turnout and resource constraints continue to hamper the railway sector. The department is actively exploring solutions to enhance service reliability and meet passenger demand in the coming months, hoping to regain public confidence in train travel across the country.
