Jack Osbourne Honors Late Father Ozzy by Naming Newborn Daughter After Him

Jack Osbourne, well-known television personality and son of legendary rock star Ozzy Osbourne, has joyfully announced the arrival of his newest daughter. In a touching gesture, he chose to name his newborn in memory of his late father, paying homage to the iconic heavy metal figure who passed away recently. This emotional tribute reflects the deep bond and lasting influence Ozzy Osbourne had on his family.

Sharing the happy news on social media, Jack posted a black-and-white photograph of baby Ozzy Matilda Osbourne peacefully resting against a delicate floral background. Alongside the image was a plaque detailing her birth specifics: she was born on March 5, 2026, at precisely 8:49 a.m., weighing 7 pounds 12 ounces and measuring 19 inches in length. The caption simply read, “Introducing Ozzy Matilda Osbourne,” marking a moment of both celebration and remembrance.

This meaningful naming carries profound significance for the Osbourne family, especially given the recent loss of Ozzy Osbourne, who died on July 22 at the age of 76. Earlier, in December 2025, Jack and his wife, Aree Gearheart, had shared the joyful news that they were expecting their second child together. They were fortunate enough to share this pregnancy announcement with Ozzy before his passing, a bittersweet moment that brought some solace during a challenging period.

Reflecting on the pregnancy in previous interviews, Jack described the experience as a source of healing and hope amid grief. He told The Sun on Sunday that the arrival of their daughter served as a “healthy distraction” and a form of emotional closure, helping the family navigate their loss. The birth of Ozzy Matilda symbolizes both continuity and renewal for the Osbourne household.

Ozzy Matilda Osbourne is Jack’s fifth daughter. He shares three daughters with his former wife, Lisa Stelly, and welcomed another daughter named Maple with Aree Gearheart in July 2022. The expanding family now embraces this newest member, whose name immortalizes the legacy of one of rock music’s most influential and beloved figures.

For the Osbournes, the choice to name their daughter after Ozzy is more than a tribute; it is a celebration of a life that shaped not only the music world but also their personal lives. This heartfelt gesture ensures that Ozzy’s memory will continue to inspire and resonate through future generations.
