Punjab Launches Comprehensive Anti-Drone Units Across All Districts to Boost Security

The Punjab government has embarked on a significant security initiative by establishing specialized Anti-Drone Units in every district across the province. This move aims to counter the rising threats posed by unauthorized drone activities, which have increasingly become a concern for public safety and national security. Each district will be equipped not only with a dedicated unit but also with state-of-the-art Anti-Drone Systems designed to detect and neutralize potentially harmful drones.

These newly formed units will operate under the direct supervision of the District Police Officer (DPO), ensuring a coordinated and efficient response to any aerial threats. The Anti-Drone Systems incorporate advanced jamming technology capable of disrupting the control signals of hostile drones, effectively preventing them from completing their missions. This technology is expected to play a crucial role in safeguarding sensitive areas and maintaining law and order throughout Punjab.

In addition to deploying these units, the provincial government has imposed strict regulations on drone usage by invoking Section 144, which prohibits the public from operating drones outdoors. This legal measure reflects growing concerns over the misuse of drones for espionage, smuggling, or other malicious activities. However, exemptions have been granted to law enforcement agencies and intelligence organizations, allowing them to continue using drones for legitimate security and surveillance operations without hindrance.

This comprehensive approach to aerial security comes amid increasing global attention on the risks associated with drones, especially in regions facing complex security challenges. By proactively addressing these risks, Punjab aims to enhance its surveillance capabilities and prevent any potential threats before they materialize. The initiative also underscores the government’s commitment to leveraging modern technology to protect its citizens and critical infrastructure.

Overall, the establishment of Anti-Drone Units and the enforcement of drone restrictions mark a significant step forward in Punjab’s security strategy. Authorities are optimistic that these measures will not only deter unlawful drone activities but also reassure the public about their safety in an era where aerial threats are becoming more sophisticated and frequent.
