Information Minister Atta Tarar has issued a stern warning regarding the use of Afghan territory for attacks against Pakistan, emphasizing that Islamabad will respond decisively if such actions persist.
During an interview on HUM TV’s programme “Faisla Aap Ka” on Thursday, Tarar accused the Afghan Taliban government of supporting and sheltering terrorists responsible for assaults on Pakistan. He asserted that Pakistan would target and dismantle militant infrastructure and hideouts within Afghanistan that facilitate these attacks.
Tarar highlighted that Pakistan had intercepted and destroyed drones launched from Afghan soil, and retaliated by striking the launch sites. He confirmed that Islamabad had shared video evidence of terrorist bases and drone manufacturing facilities, reinforcing claims that Pakistan’s precision strikes had successfully hit these militant locations.
The minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding its territory and citizens, stating that the Afghan Taliban lacked the capability to inflict significant harm on Pakistan. Nevertheless, he warned that any use of Afghan land for hostile activities would provoke a strong response from Islamabad.
In a related development, Pakistan condemned a deliberate drone incursion from Afghanistan on September 23, describing it as a blatant violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Tarar noted that Pakistan’s air defense systems detected, tracked, and neutralized all drones before they could reach their targets. Following this, Pakistan conducted precision strikes on ten sites in Afghanistan linked to drone launches and storage.
This series of events underscores rising tensions between the two neighbors, with Pakistan signaling its readiness to take robust measures against cross-border threats originating from Afghan soil.
