Security forces eliminated two Fitna al-Hindustan terrorists in an intelligence-driven operation in Turbat city, Balochistan, on Wednesday. This operation was part of the broader Operation Rad-ul-Fitna-3, launched following intelligence reports about the militants’ presence in the area.
During the encounter, security personnel exchanged fire with the India-supported militants, resulting in the deaths of two terrorists. Forces pursued other militants who fled the scene, and a search operation remains active. Authorities emphasized that counterterrorism efforts are continuing with firm determination.
Notably, this operation followed a similar success a day earlier, when security forces killed six India-backed terrorists during Operation Shaaban-II in the Saran Tangi area of Balochistan. In that operation, nine suspected individuals were also detained.
Earlier, security forces thwarted an attempt by terrorists to disrupt traffic on the N-25 highway near Kalat. Five militants were killed, and 23 hostages were rescued safely. The terrorists had set up a checkpoint on the highway to abduct civilians, extort money, and seize vehicles. The military recovered a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the militants’ hideout, along with six trucks, three buses, and two cars.
Pakistan has seen a sharp rise in terror attacks, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan, following the Afghan Taliban’s return to power. A report by the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS) highlighted that these two provinces were the main centers of violence during the second quarter of 2026, with KP being the most affected.
KP and Balochistan together accounted for nearly 96% of all violence-related deaths recorded in that period. KP reported over 61% (475) of fatalities, while Balochistan accounted for 34% (265). KP also experienced the highest number of violent incidents, with 151 cases representing 57% of the national total, followed by Balochistan with 94 incidents or 35%, underscoring the concentration of militant activity in these regions.
