Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended his congratulations to the leadership and people of Saudi Arabia on the occasion of the kingdom’s National Day, emphasizing Pakistan’s enduring commitment to its close relationship with Riyadh.
In a message shared on X, he conveyed his best wishes to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and the Saudi populace. He praised the kingdom’s remarkable progress and transformation, which he described as a source of pride and admiration for Pakistan.
Under the guidance of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Arabia continues to advance towards greater prosperity, modernization, and innovation, the prime minister noted.
Describing the bond between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia as a historic and time-honored brotherhood, PM Shehbaz highlighted that this relationship is deeply rooted in shared faith, mutual trust, and strong people-to-people connections. He added that the partnership is evolving into a robust strategic alliance, grounded in a common dedication to peace, security, and the unity of the Muslim Ummah.
He also underscored the significance of the recently signed Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement and the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, which further strengthen cooperation between the two nations.
In a significant development, PM Shehbaz reiterated Pakistan’s firm condemnation of the recent Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, specifically condemning an attempted drone strike targeting Makkah Al-Mukarramah. He emphasized that any threat to the sanctity and security of the Haramain Sharifain deeply offends Muslims worldwide.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering support, the prime minister stated that Pakistan stands firmly alongside Saudi Arabia in protecting its sovereignty, security, and the sanctity of Islam’s holiest sites.
Concluding his message, PM Shehbaz expressed optimism that the ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia would continue to grow stronger, reaffirming the enduring brotherhood shared by the two countries.
