The Pakistan Army commenced joint military exercises with Russian and Omani forces on Tuesday at two locations: Cherat and the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) in Pabbi. These drills mark the ninth iteration of the Pakistan-Russia exercise, Druzhba-IX, held at Cherat, alongside the second edition of the Pakistan-Oman exercise, Washaq Al Jabal-II (Mountain Lynx-II), taking place at NCTC Pabbi.
Spanning two weeks, the exercises bring together troops from the Pakistan Army, Russian Army, and the Royal Army of Oman. The primary objectives include sharing operational experience, refining counter-terrorism tactics, and improving interoperability among the participating forces.
In a significant development, the joint training sessions facilitate the exchange of best practices, allowing the contingents to enhance their combat capabilities and tactical proficiency. Meanwhile, these exercises also serve to deepen defense collaboration between Pakistan and its partners, Russia and Oman.
