In a significant development on Wednesday evening, the federal government announced another increase in fuel prices, raising the cost of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD). This adjustment was formalized through a notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), which oversees fuel pricing regulations in the country.

The price of petrol has been elevated by Rs6.88 per litre, pushing the new rate to Rs391.22 per litre. Similarly, high-speed diesel has seen a rise of Rs5.62 per litre, bringing its price to Rs421.45 per litre. These hikes represent the eighth consecutive upward revision in petroleum prices implemented by the government in recent months.

These price changes will come into effect from midnight on Thursday and will remain valid until the next official revision is announced. The persistent increases in fuel costs have significantly impacted consumers and transport operators alike, leading to higher expenses for daily commuting and goods transportation across the country.
