NADRA Launches Online Process to Reobtain ‘Proof of Life’ Certificate

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced an online system allowing individuals to reobtain their ‘Proof of Life’ certificates without visiting physical offices. This digital initiative aims to simplify the process, saving time and reducing the need for in-person visits, especially benefiting those residing abroad or in remote areas. The ‘Proof of Life’ certificate is a crucial document used to verify an individual’s existence for pension disbursements and other official purposes.

Previously, obtaining or renewing this certificate required applicants to appear in person at NADRA centers, which posed challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic and for elderly or disabled citizens. By shifting to an online platform, NADRA is aligning with global trends toward digital governance and improving service delivery efficiency. This move also supports the government’s broader vision of digitizing public services to enhance transparency and accessibility.

In a significant development for pensioners and other beneficiaries, the online process is expected to reduce delays and administrative burdens. It also reflects NADRA’s commitment to leveraging technology to meet citizens’ needs amid evolving circumstances. As more services become available online, this step marks progress in Pakistan’s digital transformation journey, potentially inspiring further innovations in public sector service provision.
