The moon for Rabi ul Awal was not sighted, leading to the announcement that Eid Milad un Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) will be observed on August 26. This declaration came from Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad on Thursday.
The decision followed a meeting held in Islamabad, chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, where representatives from the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and other relevant institutions contributed technical expertise. After carefully examining reports and eyewitness accounts from across the country, the committee concluded that no reliable evidence of the moon’s sighting was available.
Consequently, the first day of Rabi ul Awal for the Islamic year 1448 AH will begin on Saturday, August 15. The 12th of Rabi ul Awal, which marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), will be commemorated on Wednesday, August 26.
