In a significant move underscoring the government’s commitment to national security, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid an urgent visit to the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. The meeting, held under pressing circumstances, focused on the evolving internal and external security challenges facing Pakistan, particularly the escalating tensions along the border with Afghanistan. This visit highlights the seriousness with which the government is addressing these critical issues amid a complex regional security landscape.

During the session, the Prime Minister was presented with a comprehensive briefing by senior military officials detailing the current security environment. The discussions covered a wide array of concerns, including the volatile border situation, the persistent threat of terrorism, and the progress of ongoing counter-terrorism operations within Pakistan. The military leadership provided an in-depth analysis of recent developments, emphasizing the need for vigilance and coordinated efforts to safeguard the country’s stability.

Addressing the assembled officials, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif made it unequivocally clear that the government will adopt a zero-tolerance approach towards the so-called “Fitna al-Khawarij” and any alleged connections with the Afghan Taliban regime. He stressed that Pakistan will not tolerate any form of aggression or hostile acts that threaten its sovereignty. The Prime Minister’s firm stance signals a robust policy aimed at deterring cross-border provocations and ensuring that Pakistan’s territorial integrity remains inviolable.

Expressing his confidence in the capabilities of the Pakistan Army, the Prime Minister lauded the professionalism and readiness of the armed forces. He highlighted the leadership of the Field Marshal, under whose guidance the military remains fully prepared to defend the nation against any external or internal threats. The recent decisive responses by the armed forces were commended as sending a strong and clear message to adversaries that Pakistan possesses the strength and resolve to protect its borders effectively.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif underscored the unacceptable nature of any hostile activities originating from the Afghan Taliban regime and the Fitna al-Khawarij factions. He emphasized that for lasting peace and stability in the region, it is imperative that cross-border attacks cease immediately. The Prime Minister also conveyed that the entire Pakistani nation stands united with its armed forces, ready to make any sacrifice necessary to defend the homeland against threats.

Concluding his remarks, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to national security. He assured that the country possesses the full capability and determination to respond decisively to any aggression. This visit to GHQ and the strong statements issued reflect the government’s proactive approach to safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty and maintaining peace in a challenging geopolitical environment.
