12 India-backed Terrorists Killed in Balochistan Intelligence Operations

Security forces eliminated 12 terrorists associated with the Indian proxy group Fitna Al Hindustan during two intelligence-driven operations in Balochistan’s Washuk and Mastung districts, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Thursday.

The operations were part of the ongoing Rad-ul-Fitna-3 campaign, a sustained counterterrorism effort targeting Indian-backed militants. On August 5, security personnel detected the movement of six terrorists in Washuk district and engaged them, resulting in all six militants being killed in a precise operation.

In a separate operation on August 6 in Mastung district, six additional terrorists were neutralized following a fierce exchange of gunfire. The forces also demolished a terrorist hideout during this mission.

Under the Azm-e-Istehkam initiative, endorsed by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, Pakistan’s security and law enforcement agencies are committed to intensifying efforts to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.

These operations follow a similar mission last week in Khuzdar district, where security forces killed four India-sponsored terrorists and destroyed two vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (VBIEDs). The militants were intercepted while attempting to move the explosives.

Since the Afghan Taliban assumed power in 2021, Pakistan has experienced a rise in terrorist activities, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan provinces. A report by the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS) highlighted that these two provinces remained the primary centers of violence during the second quarter of 2026, with KP being the most affected.

The report revealed that KP and Balochistan accounted for nearly 96% of all violence-related deaths in that period. KP alone recorded over 61% (475) of fatalities, while Balochistan accounted for 34% (265). KP also experienced the highest number of violent incidents, with 151 cases representing 57% of the national total, followed by Balochistan with 94 incidents or 35%, underscoring the concentration of militant activity in these regions.
