FPSC Declares CSS 2025 Results with 2.67% Pass Rate Amidst Fierce Competition

The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) revealed the results of the Central Superior Services (CSS) Examination 2025 on Thursday, highlighting the intense competition for civil service positions in Pakistan. Out of 12,792 candidates who took part in this prestigious exam, only 355 managed to pass the written phase, reflecting a stringent overall pass rate of just 2.67%.

Following the written examination, the FPSC recommended a total of 170 candidates for appointment to various civil service posts. This group included 84 men and 86 women, underscoring a balanced gender representation among successful candidates. The merit list was topped by Asad Rafiq, who secured the first position, with Muhammad Mohsin and Tariq Hafeez coming in second and third respectively.

Punjab emerged as the dominant province in the merit list, with 23 of the top 30 candidates hailing from the region. Sindh and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa each contributed two candidates, while Balochistan had three representatives among the highest scorers. Interestingly, all top 30 candidates were allocated to the Pakistan Administrative Service and the Police Service of Pakistan, with none assigned to the Foreign Service, marking a notable trend in service allocation.

The CSS examination remains one of the most challenging and competitive recruitment processes in Pakistan’s civil service landscape. It serves as a critical gateway for young professionals aspiring to join the federal bureaucracy and contribute to the country’s governance and administration. The FPSC’s announcement this year once again reflects the high standards and rigorous selection criteria upheld in this annual exercise.
