Pakistani Forces Retaliate After Afghan Taliban Fire Along Border

Pakistani security forces responded on Tuesday to unprovoked gunfire from the Afghan Taliban along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, with clashes reported at several locations. Exchanges of fire occurred in the Chaman-Spin Boldak area, Angoor Adda in North Waziristan, and the Bajaur-Kunar sector, where both sides reportedly employed heavy weaponry.

Drone activity was also observed over certain border posts during the confrontations. Pakistani forces launched retaliatory operations under the banner of “Operation Ghazab lil-Haq,” targeting Taliban positions across the frontier. Multiple posts, including Sar Shana, Almarjan, and the Eidhi post, were reportedly hit and effectively destroyed. In addition, vehicles and other installations were targeted in the response.

Security officials emphasized that the aggression from the Afghan Taliban and affiliated groups was unprovoked, prompting a strong Pakistani response. They confirmed that operations would persist until all assigned objectives were fulfilled. The armed forces remain committed to safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and preventing militants and their facilitators from advancing their plans.

No immediate official statements were released by either the Afghan Taliban government or Pakistan’s military spokesperson regarding casualties or damage. However, residents in Bajaur reported shelling in several areas, which caused panic, though no casualties were independently confirmed at the time.

Social media accounts linked to security entities in both countries also reported clashes, but these claims have not been independently verified. Tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border have periodically escalated in recent months, especially in regions where militant groups are believed to operate across the frontier.
