Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan on Wednesday expressed admiration for the Dawoodi Bohra community’s significant contributions to public welfare, especially in healthcare and education, during his visits to prominent community institutions in Karachi.

At Saifee Hospital, the governor toured various facilities, including a newly inaugurated cardiac wing. He lauded the hospital’s efforts to enhance access to specialized medical services and acknowledged its vital role in improving healthcare infrastructure. Additionally, he recognized the broader impact of the community’s members on social welfare and economic activities in both Karachi and Punjab.

Emphasizing the value of preventive healthcare, the governor praised initiatives aimed at promoting healthier lifestyles. He was briefed on recreational and fitness amenities, including those linked to the Nadil Burhani sports academy, which encourage physical activity within urban environments.

Subsequently, the governor visited Aljamea tus Saifiyah, an educational institution managed by the Dawoodi Bohra community. During his tour of the campus, he met with faculty and students, commending the institution’s academic standards and infrastructure.

In an interaction with students, Mr. Haider highlighted the institution’s balanced approach to combining religious teachings with contemporary education. He urged the students to uphold integrity and contribute constructively to the nation’s progress.

Recalling the recent visit of the community’s spiritual leader, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, to Pakistan during Ashara Mubaraka in 2024, the governor expressed optimism about his return in the near future.

The visit concluded with a luncheon hosted by the Dawoodi Bohra community. Officials noted that the engagements underscored shared commitments to advancing health, education, and social development.
