Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman managed to avoid an uncomfortable meeting while attending CinemaCon 2026 at The Dolby Colosseum in Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. Both stars, aged 63 and 58 respectively, were present to promote their upcoming projects but did not appear together despite some social media buzz about their matching black outfits—Cruise in a suit and Kidman in a silk dress.
During the event, Cruise appeared alongside director Alejandro G. Iñárritu to present a preview of their new dark comedy, Digger. In this film, Cruise plays Digger Rockwell, an eccentric oil tycoon whose reckless actions trigger a major environmental disaster. The story follows Rockwell’s efforts to prevent the catastrophe from escalating into a nuclear crisis. Cruise described the role as a culmination of his 40-year acting career, highlighting the complexity of the character, who sports thinning gray hair, a beer belly, a Southern accent, and a fondness for cats. The Warner Bros. film is scheduled for an October theatrical release.
Meanwhile, Kidman joined her Practical Magic co-star Sandra Bullock to showcase footage from the upcoming sequel to the 1998 hit. Directed by Susanne Bier, the new installment is set to premiere on September 11. Both Cruise and Kidman, who were married from 1990 to 2001 and share two adopted children, made separate appearances onstage to promote their respective films, successfully avoiding any direct interaction.
