Pakistan Faces Thunderstorms and Heavy Rain Across Multiple Regions

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) of Pakistan has issued a fresh weather alert forecasting thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in Karachi and several other parts of the country. Over the next 12 to 24 hours, multiple cities are expected to experience intense rain, hailstorms, and strong winds.

Karachi is among the cities predicted to face stormy weather, with similar conditions anticipated in Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, and Umerkot. In Balochistan, gusty winds coupled with thunderstorms are expected to affect various areas. Meanwhile, northern regions such as Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and the Neelum Valley may witness a combination of rain, strong winds, and snowfall.

Additionally, the NDMA forecasts rainfall across several cities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, Swat, Dir, Chitral, and Dera Ismail Khan. In Punjab, cities like Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Multan are likely to receive rain, with hailstorms possible in Murree, Sialkot, Narowal, and Sargodha.

The authority has warned that dust storms could reduce visibility, while slippery roads may increase risks for travelers. Hailstorms pose a threat to crops and vulnerable infrastructure, and snowfall in mountainous areas might disrupt traffic flow. Citizens have been urged to avoid unnecessary travel and stay in safe locations until the adverse weather subsides.
