Aamir Khan Revises Climax of Son Junaid Khan’s Film Ek Din

Aamir Khan played a pivotal creative role in shaping the climax of his son Junaid Khan’s upcoming romantic drama, Ek Din. Filmmaker Mansoor Khan revealed that Aamir intervened to rewrite the film’s ending after raising concerns about how the original conclusion was executed.

In a recent discussion, Mansoor explained that Aamir had reservations regarding the final scene and took it upon himself to refine the climax. “Aamir had reservations about the climax scene. He rewrote it. We agreed he was right,” Mansoor noted, highlighting the collaborative nature of the project.

The film features Junaid Khan alongside Sai Pallavi, who is making her Bollywood debut. Directed by Sunil Pandey, Ek Din is produced by Aamir Khan Productions in partnership with Mansoor Khan and Aparna Purohit.

Mansoor, who has a history of working with Aamir on classics such as Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, mentioned that creative differences emerged during the making of Ek Din, but these were resolved constructively. He recalled a particular instance involving a song sequence shot in Japan, where Aamir proposed a different emotional tone. However, Mansoor supported the director’s original vision at that time. “When he saw the final result, he agreed with us,” Mansoor added, emphasizing how such exchanges ultimately strengthened the film.

Ek Din, a remake of the 2016 Thai film One Day, is set to premiere in theatres on 1 May 2026.
