Netflix to Livestream NASA’s Artemis II Lunar Flyby on April 6

Netflix has announced it will livestream the most anticipated phase of NASA’s Artemis II mission, the Lunar Flyby, on April 6 at 6:45 PM GMT, corresponding to 11:45 PM Pakistan Standard Time (PKT). This broadcast, made possible through Netflix’s partnership with NASA, will capture the Orion spacecraft’s closest approach as it swings around the far side of the Moon before returning to Earth.

The global livestream timings are as follows: 6:45 PM GMT (UK), 2:45 PM US Eastern Time (ET), 11:45 AM US Pacific Time (PT), 8:45 PM Central European Summer Time (CEST), 10:45 PM Gulf Standard Time (GST) in the UAE, 11:45 PM Pakistan Standard Time (PKT), 12:15 AM Indian Standard Time (IST) on April 7, 3:45 AM Japan Standard Time (JST) on April 7, and 4:45 AM Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) on April 7.

Although the Artemis II mission launched on April 1, Netflix did not stream the liftoff live. This decision was influenced by the widespread availability of the launch coverage across multiple platforms, including NASA’s own streaming services, which attracted large global audiences. Netflix’s collaboration with NASA+ remains relatively new and has featured limited live programming to date, which likely explains its absence during the launch event.

Instead, Netflix is concentrating on broadcasting the mission’s most visually captivating and defining moment. The lunar flyby marks the peak of the journey, as astronauts travel deep into space, loop around the Moon using its gravity, and then head back to Earth. This event serves as the centerpiece of the mission’s global broadcast, promising a spectacular viewing experience for audiences worldwide.
