Sydney Sweeney Emerges as Unexpected Contender for Next James Bond

Sydney Sweeney has recently surfaced as a surprising candidate to take on the iconic role of James Bond, following endorsement from Hollywood director Paul Feig. The 28-year-old star of Euphoria has already shown enthusiasm for joining the franchise, and these new remarks have intensified speculation about her possibly becoming the next 007.

Paul Feig, who collaborated with Sweeney on The Housemaid, expressed a preference for her to assume the role of Bond rather than a conventional “Bond girl.” He praised her as “professional, smart, and savvy,” emphasizing that she would make a compelling spy character.

Sweeney has previously hinted at her interest in the Bond series, especially after Amazon MGM took over creative control. Last year, she shared her excitement and curiosity about the direction the franchise might take under new management.

When questioned about playing a Bond girl, she indicated her ambitions were higher, stating, “I think I’d have more fun as James Bond.”

The future of the Bond franchise remains a major topic of discussion following Daniel Craig’s final portrayal in No Time To Die. Numerous actors have been linked to the role, including Jacob Elordi, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Damson Idris, and Callum Turner. Earlier rumors involving Jessie Buckley were later revealed to be an April Fool’s prank.

Denis Villeneuve is set to direct the next Bond installment, with a script penned by Steven Knight, signaling a fresh chapter for the long-standing series. While it remains uncertain if Sweeney will be seriously considered, the suggestion has sparked renewed debate about the future direction of James Bond.
