ISLAMABAD: On Saturday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended warm Easter greetings to Christians both in Pakistan and globally, expressing his hopes for peace, stability, and prosperity during the festive occasion.
In a message shared on the social media platform X, the prime minister conveyed his sincere wishes to the Christian community, especially within Pakistan, and extended goodwill to all citizens celebrating Easter. He emphasized that Easter embodies a universal message of love, hope, and renewal, highlighting important values such as sacrifice, forgiveness, tolerance, and interfaith harmony.
“In the current challenging global climate, the message of peace that is central to all religions holds even greater significance,” he noted. Sharif also commended the Christian community’s valuable contributions to Pakistan’s economic and social development, describing their role as both commendable and indispensable.
In a significant development, the prime minister reaffirmed the government’s dedication to protecting the religious, economic, and educational rights of all citizens, with particular attention to minorities. He stressed the importance of ensuring equal opportunities for everyone. These commitments, he explained, are deeply rooted in Islamic principles, the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and firmly established in the Constitution.
Sharif further underscored the need for unity and collective effort in building a welfare state, urging all citizens to collaborate in advancing the nation’s progress and prosperity. “Let us renew our pledge to move forward with unity, dedication, and sincerity,” he concluded, offering his heartfelt Easter wishes once again.
