Following his acclaimed feature film debut in Aag Lagay Basti Mein, Tabish Hashmi has hinted at an upcoming major drama project. During an appearance on Buzz with Hassan Choudary, the comedian and television host was asked about his future in dramas. He responded that audiences can expect to see him on the small screen “pretty soon,” adding that it will be a “very big drama.”

Hashmi made his acting debut in Aag Lagay Basti Mein, portraying a negative character alongside prominent actors Fahad Mustafa and Mahira Khan. The crime-comedy, which premiered on Eid Ul Fitr 2026, has achieved one of the strongest openings in the history of Pakistani cinema. It earned Rs 27.2 crore globally within its first three days, with Rs 16.2 crore coming from Pakistan and Rs 11 crore from international markets.

Reflecting on his debut at a pre-release event, Hashmi humorously noted that he felt less nervous than Mustafa, who was also an investor in the film. He remarked, “I have done my job with what was given to me.” The film’s record-breaking box office performance has surpassed previous hits such as Love Guru (Rs 12.8 crore) and The Legend of Maula Jatt (Rs 11.3 crore), while also outperforming the competing release Bullah.
