Pakistan Denies Taliban’s Claim of Destroying Military Post in Kunar

Pakistan has firmly rejected the Afghan Taliban’s claim that a Pakistani military post captured in Kunar province was destroyed, labeling the allegation as unfounded and without merit. Taliban officials had stated that Afghan forces demolished a structure identified as a previously seized Pakistani post in the Nawapas area of Sarkano district, Kunar.

In response, Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued a strong denial via a statement on X, emphasizing that no Pakistani territory or military installation was impacted. The ministry clarified that the building referred to as “Wacha Chinary” is actually an Afghan facility situated within Afghan borders, not a Pakistani military post.

Officials highlighted that the structure lacks typical Pakistani military identifiers, such as the national flag or proximity to the international border fence. They described the Taliban’s claim as misleading and false, suggesting it was intended to distort facts and serve propaganda purposes amid the ongoing “Operation Ghazab lil Haq.”

Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi revealed that Pakistan had launched an operation in Afghanistan, which was temporarily halted for Eid following requests from friendly nations. Speaking to the media, the governor also addressed domestic political issues, noting that the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was not sentenced by either the prime minister or the president. He urged PTI’s legal team to concentrate on judicial matters rather than internal party politics.

Furthermore, Governor Kundi alleged internal divisions within PTI, claiming the party is split into “three to four factions,” and questioned which faction truly represents the original leadership.
