Trump Warns of Striking Iran’s Infrastructure if Strait of Hormuz Remains Blocked

In a dramatic escalation of tensions, U.S. President Donald Trump issued a stark warning on Sunday, threatening to strike key Iranian infrastructure if the Strait of Hormuz remains closed. The Strait, a vital shipping lane for global oil supplies, has been effectively blocked by Tehran following recent U.S. and Israeli military actions against Iran.

Trump’s message, posted on his social media platform, was notably forceful and explicit. He declared that Tuesday would be designated as “Power Plant Day” and “Bridge Day” in Iran, signaling planned attacks on the country’s critical energy and transportation facilities. The president emphasized the severity of the consequences, stating that there would be “nothing like it” in the region.

Meanwhile, Trump’s post included a direct and harsh demand for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, addressing Iranian authorities with strong language and warning of dire repercussions if they failed to comply. The message concluded with a controversial phrase, “Praise be to Allah,” adding a complex tone to the communication.

In a related development, the president announced plans to hold a news conference on Monday in the Oval Office. This briefing will follow the recent rescue operation of two U.S. pilots whose aircraft were downed in Iranian territory, an incident that has further intensified the already fragile situation between the two nations. The unfolding events mark a critical juncture in the ongoing conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel, with global implications for security and energy markets.
