Pakistan Denies Afghan Taliban’s Claims of Role in Badakhshan Violence

Pakistan has strongly dismissed the Afghan Taliban regime’s unfounded accusations that its forces have supported or accompanied armed opposition groups in Badakhshan. Afghan Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid had claimed Pakistani authorities were directly involved in the violence there.

In response, Pakistan’s Ministry of Information declared that these allegations are completely untrue and no credible evidence has been provided to back such claims. The ministry emphasized that the unrest in Badakhshan stems from Afghanistan’s internal security and governance problems rather than any external interference.

Furthermore, independent reports have characterized the clashes as part of an armed resistance against the Afghan Taliban’s non-inclusive and oppressive rule, without indicating any Pakistani participation. The ministry reiterated Pakistan’s consistent support for a peaceful and stable Afghanistan, stressing that it has no interest in destabilizing its neighbor.

In a significant development, the ministry urged the Taliban regime to focus on addressing the mounting challenges caused by their own governance failures instead of shifting blame onto Pakistan. It underscored that unsubstantiated accusations cannot replace factual evidence in understanding Afghanistan’s internal conflicts.
