The Islamabad district administration has declared that Trails 2, 3, 4, 5, along with the trail behind Saidpur Village in the Margalla Hills, will be closed to the public on August 13. This closure will be in effect for the entire day, restricting access to these popular hiking routes.
A formal notification issued by the Office of the District Magistrate, Islamabad Capital Territory, outlines the specific trails affected by this order. The directive was signed by District Magistrate Irfan Nawaz Memon.
The administration has instructed all relevant departments and authorities to enforce the closure strictly. Copies of the notification have been distributed to key offices including the Chief Commissioner’s Office, Islamabad, the Inspector General of Police, Islamabad, the Capital Development Authority (CDA), the Ministry of Interior, Islamabad Police, and other concerned bodies.
Notably, the Capital Development Authority’s Directorate General of Environment and the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) have also been notified to ensure compliance. Furthermore, the Islamabad Traffic Police and other law enforcement agencies have been tasked with implementing necessary measures related to the closure.
The notification does not mention any specific reason for the trails’ closure on August 13. Meanwhile, the district administration has urged media outlets and relevant organizations to disseminate information about the restriction, so the public can make informed plans and avoid visiting the affected trails on that day.
