Pakistan Denounces India’s ‘Baseless’ Claims on Afghan Terror Strikes

Pakistan firmly dismissed India’s recent allegations concerning Islamabad’s military operations targeting terrorist infrastructure in Afghanistan, labeling the claims as unfounded and absurd. The Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi emphasized that Pakistan’s actions were legitimate, precise, and proportionate responses to threats emanating from Afghan soil.

Andrabi criticized India for historically interfering in the sovereignty and territorial integrity of neighboring states, actions that violate the principles of the United Nations Charter. He further highlighted India’s ongoing suppression of the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, contrary to relevant UN resolutions.

In a significant development, the spokesperson accused India of actively supporting terrorist groups operating from Afghanistan against Pakistan, breaching UN Security Council sanctions. He described India as a regional destabilizer whose unfounded accusations and provocative rhetoric against Pakistan should be disregarded.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to national security, Andrabi stated that the country will continue to take all necessary measures in line with international law to protect its citizens.

Earlier, on the night of June 28-29, Pakistan’s security forces conducted precise strikes against terrorist hideouts along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, resulting in the deaths of 29 militants, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar. These operations were part of the ongoing “Operation Ghazab lil-Haq” and targeted camps in Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar, destroying large caches of weapons and ammunition.

Tarar noted that these strikes were a direct response to recent terrorist attacks within Pakistan, including assaults in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and an attack on the Pakistan Rangers camp in Karachi. Since the Afghan Taliban assumed power in 2021, Pakistan has experienced a rise in terrorist activities, particularly in its western provinces.

Despite multiple rounds of dialogue, tensions along the border escalated in October 2025 after unprovoked attacks by the Afghan Taliban and allied militants on Pakistani posts. Efforts to reach a resolution have stalled, largely due to the Afghan Taliban regime’s unwillingness to act against terrorist groups operating from its territory.
