The Islamabad College for Girls (ICG), located in F-6/2, has officially commenced its eagerly awaited two-week Summer Fiesta 2026, providing students with a vibrant platform to enhance their technical, creative, and vocational abilities.

Organized by the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), the opening ceremony was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Federal Education, diplomats, distinguished educationists, and supportive parents.

Federal Education Secretary Nadeem Mehboob lauded the initiative, highlighting its importance in expanding educational horizons. He noted that the fiesta aims to blend education with enjoyment and creativity, encouraging students to learn beyond traditional classroom settings.

“Through interactive workshops and practical experiences, students have the opportunity to discover new talents, boost their confidence, and improve their skills,” Mehboob stated.

FDE Director-General Javed Iqbal Mirza reinforced these views, emphasizing that skill-based training is crucial for nurturing contemporary leadership qualities. He remarked, “Investing in education is investing in a brighter future. Programs like the Summer Fiesta create a supportive environment where students can develop, grow, and prepare for the challenges of a rapidly evolving world.”

The launch event featured captivating performances by students, including a vibrant collection of regional songs and an energetic Taekwondo display. Guests also visited classrooms and specialized activity booths, expressing admiration for the students’ creativity and commitment.

The two-week program offers a wide array of specialized tracks tailored to various interests. In the technology and innovation category, participants can engage in courses such as coding and robotics, digital creativity, and Scratch programming.

The creative arts and crafts segment includes activities like creative arts, design lab, pottery, fabric painting, and art and design.

For those interested in vocational and culinary skills, the program provides courses in fashion couture, creative embellishment, and professional culinary arts.

Additionally, the life skills and fitness category features communication skills workshops and Taekwondo training, combining personal development with physical fitness opportunities.
