FIA Busts Organized Network Forging Route Permits and Fitness Certificates

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has apprehended individuals involved in a sophisticated forgery network responsible for producing counterfeit route permits and vehicle fitness certificates during a raid in Faisalabad.

The operation took place in Kutchery Bazaar, where officials uncovered a group allegedly engaged in fabricating and distributing fake transport documents. Verification through the Vehicle Registration and Permit Record (VRPR) system confirmed the documents were forged.

The investigation began after a complaint was lodged by the Regional Transport Authority (RTA). Authorities arrested several suspects believed to be part of the scheme and confiscated mobile phones, laptops, and other digital devices from them.

In a significant development, digital records recovered during the raid indicated the existence of a broader forgery network. Officials also seized records of national identity cards and driving licences that appeared to be connected to the fraudulent activities.

The electronic devices are now in custody and will undergo forensic examination as investigators work to identify further suspects and assess the full extent of the operation.

A case has been registered at the FIA Composite Circle, with investigations ongoing. Meanwhile, additional raids are planned to apprehend other individuals linked to the network.

Reaffirming its dedication to combating corruption and document fraud, the FIA emphasized that strict measures will be taken against those causing losses to public institutions. The agency highlighted its success in tracing an organized group involved in producing fake official documents.
