Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and Chief Minister Sohail Afridi engaged in comprehensive discussions with Prince Rahim al-Hussain Aga Khan V on Monday, centering on development cooperation and investment prospects within the province.

Following the meeting held in Chitral, Governor Kundi stated that he and Chief Minister Afridi welcomed Prince Rahim Aga Khan, the 50th hereditary Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims, to review ongoing and upcoming projects spearheaded by the Aga Khan Foundation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The talks encompassed potential collaboration across sectors such as health, education, culture, and tourism, with both parties exploring avenues to broaden development initiatives throughout the province. Prince Rahim Aga Khan conveyed his keen interest in expanding the Foundation’s footprint in these areas.

Chief Minister Afridi highlighted that investment opportunities were a key topic, particularly focusing on the province’s natural resources and tourism potential. Proposals for establishing an Aga Khan University Hospital and a university in Peshawar were also deliberated during the discussions.

Both leaders emphasized that the meeting underscored a growing commitment to strengthening development partnerships in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Meanwhile, Prince Rahim Aga Khan V concluded his four-day visit to Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral on Monday, departing from Gilgit after participating in numerous religious and social events attended by large gatherings of followers.

During his visit, he traveled to Hunza, Gojal, Gahkuch, Yasin Gilgit, and Chitral, where thousands of Ismaili community members came out to catch a glimpse of their spiritual leader, celebrating with devotion and enthusiasm. Authorities and residents described the visit as a significant demonstration of religious harmony and public support.

At Gilgit airport, Prince Rahim was seen off by the Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister, the governor, and senior military and civil officials. Prior to his departure, he expressed gratitude to the military and civil institutions for the security and administrative arrangements that facilitated the visit.
