The Vice Chancellor of the University of Gwadar, Dr Abdul Razzaq Sabir, the Pro-Vice Chancellor Syed Manzoor Ahmed, a staff officer named Irshad Ahmed, and their driver Hatim Ali have returned home safely after being missing for almost ten days in Balochistan.
They were located in the Kardgap area of Mastung district, where authorities recovered them unharmed. Subsequent confirmations from officials stated that all four individuals had safely reached their residences and were reunited with their families.
Notably, the group disappeared on May 13 while traveling from Gwadar to Quetta. Their mobile phones were switched off, and efforts to contact them failed, raising concerns about a possible abduction during their journey.
In response, security forces initiated an intelligence-driven search operation across various locations in Balochistan. Multiple suspected sites were raided as part of the efforts to locate the missing university officials and ensure their safe return.
Authorities have yet to disclose specific details regarding the circumstances of their recovery or the identities of those responsible for their disappearance. However, investigations remain active to clarify the sequence of events that led to their safe return.
Meanwhile, officials emphasize that further inquiries will focus on determining whether the incident was a targeted abduction and identifying the perpetrators. Security agencies continue to analyze intelligence collected during the operation to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
