Dismissed Policeman May Return After Key Role in Pinky’s Arrest

A police constable in Karachi, previously dismissed over allegations of accepting bribes from Anmol alias Pinky, is now likely to be reinstated after playing a crucial role in her arrest. Senior officers had assigned the constable to track Pinky, and within a week, he successfully helped locate her, sources revealed.

Pinky was apprehended last week from her apartment in Karachi’s Garden area on charges of operating a drug network. While she denied the allegations and claimed she had been detained in Lahore 15 days prior to her transfer to Karachi, authorities recovered weapons, cocaine, and other narcotics valued at approximately Rs1.5 million from her possession. The police also stated that she was running a drug supply operation in the port city.

In addition to drug-related charges, Pinky faces murder accusations and remains in police custody under physical remand. The arrest was reportedly based on intelligence provided by the same constable who had earlier been accused of facilitating Pinky’s activities and accepting substantial bribes. Following internal investigations and confidential reports, the constable was dismissed from service.

Despite these prior allegations, officials are now contemplating reinstating him due to his instrumental role in the recent arrest. Meanwhile, Sindh Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho indicated that the ongoing investigation into the Pinky case might reveal several high-profile names. He also announced the formation of a task force and urged the public to come forward and provide testimony in court.
