Balochistan Declares Summer Break for Schools Amid Rising Heat

The Balochistan government has officially declared summer vacations for government schools across the province, responding to the increasing temperatures that have affected much of the region. The holiday period is set to commence on May 23 and will extend until July 31, providing students and staff a much-needed respite during the hottest months of the year.

This move comes shortly after neighboring provinces Punjab and Sindh also announced their respective summer breaks. Sindh’s education authorities declared that all public and private schools in the province will observe summer holidays starting June 1 and lasting until July 31. This coordinated approach reflects a broader regional response to the seasonal heatwave impacting educational institutions.

Meanwhile, Punjab has set its summer vacation schedule slightly earlier than Sindh, with schools closing from May 22 and reopening on August 24. Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat shared this update via social media, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding students’ health and well-being during the intense summer heat.

These staggered but overlapping vacation periods across the provinces highlight the governments’ efforts to balance educational continuity with climate-related challenges. As temperatures continue to rise, such proactive measures aim to ensure the safety and comfort of students and educators throughout the summer months.
